Stake Land (2010) – 2 Non Critics

From Bats, to vamps. Non Critic Will chose to discuss 2010’s vampire apocalypse epic, Stake Land.

This conversation runs the full gambit of genre, mythology, violence and WATERWORLD!

It’s long, but worth it.

Son of Batman (2014) – 2 Non Critics

Besides being lifelong friends and film buffs, with very different tastes, Non Critic Dustin and Non Critic Will are both Batman fans. Since childhood, the Dark Knight has been a monumental fixture of their imaginations.

In this episode they discuss their earliest Bat memories and impressions of the new animated DC film, Son of Batman.

KICKASSIA (2010) – 2 Non Critics

The Nostalgia Critic gets mentioned here a LOT. Doug Walker’s work with that character, the universe he built, and his friends at thatguywiththeglasses.com has brought me out of my ten year darkness. Along with James Rolfe and cinemassacre.com, I have finally seen the kind of entertainment I always wanted to create but never thought possible.

In this edition of 2 Non Critics, Non Critics Dustin and Will discuss, at great length, the power of passion and striving to create what is truly special. All these feelings (and more!) were stirred by the wonderfully innovative 2012 web series (turned film by youtube) called KICKASSIA!

LEGEND (1985) – Reggie Retro.

To the casual viewer this recent installment of Reggie Retro will appear as average. The picture quality is nothing special. There’s glitches. And the first half is a lot slower than the second. So I’d understand if they pass it by without note.

But to me, it is a personal triumph. There is a lot here that I’ve been meaning to achieve in the Reggie videos. Quick editing. Narrative flow. History. A Review. Clips from the movie. And a strange ending.

I’m immensely proud of it. With each new installment I take another step forward. Stick around to see where I step to next.

Across The Hall (2009) – 2 Non Critics

A thrilling and suspenseful episode of 2 Non Critics tonight!

Non Critic Will suggested Non Critic Dustin to watch the 2009 Non-Linear thriller Across The Hall starring the late Brittany Murphy and the TV star Mike Vogel.

Interesting note: The director is a dude by the name of Alex Merkin. Perhaps a director should consider changing his name when it is also used as the term for a pubic hair wig.

American Movie (1999) – 2 Non Critics

The 2 Non Critics enter the documentary realm by discussing the 1999 gem, and cult classic, American Movie, directed by Chris Smith.

Mark Borchardt is a truly independent filmmaker who inspires those closest to him to invest their time, and money, in helping him achieve his ultimate dream.

As an independent myself I 100% identify with Mr. Borchardt and am truly fascinated by his determination to finish his film. Does Non Critic Will feel the same way? Check it out, man.

The Hidden 2 (1993) – 2 Non Critics

What can you say when talking about a direct to video sequel of a B-Movie that not many people remember?

A hell of a lot apparently.

Non critics Will and Dustin close the book on The Hidden saga(?) by getting deep into the guts of a film from Will’s childhood.

Does it hold up with his nostalgic memories? The Answer is “hidden” within.

Children Of Dune (2003) 2 Non Critics

Last week a sudden illness kept me down for a few days. Today, 2 Non Critics is back in full form!

Non Critic Will and Dustin complete the Syfy Channel Dune Mini-series saga with the 2003 adaptation of Dune Messiah and Children of Dune.

With a look ahead at what’s to come.

Frank Herbert’s Dune (2000) – 2 Non Critics

Before the SyFy Channel started to rely on garbage like Sharknado and Ghost Hunters, they took a big risk with the massive adaptation of Frank Herbert’s epic novel Dune.

The 2 Non Critics have a long discussion about the nature of heroes, science-fiction, and storytelling.

2 Non Critics – God Bless America (2011)

Ranters on youtube are a dime a dozen. You can’t escape them. When we conceived of the 2 Non Critics program, I promised myself to not get ranty. Keep it direct and concise.

Tonight, I broke that promise.

Bobcat Goldthwait made a film that sparks discussion. And boy did it. I steal this show from Non Critic Will who can only sit back and watch his pathetic friend lament on the monotony of daily life.
